Important Updates:

Quarter 1 Software Release

We have been working on a “Native” overhaul for almost 6-months now which will be a complete rebuild/redesign of our Native iOS / Android app(s). We’ve set the bar in the market once again for small business mobile apps.

We are excited to share a preview of Bizness Apps 4.0!

This redesign will take full advantage of the iOS 7 UI components, increasing user engagement and social integration opportunities. As you can imagine, this is a large effort that touches every view in our product. You can expect the full Release within the month of March.

Below is a full feature list you can reference when informing your clients of this HUGE product release.

ETA: ~30-days (currently in final Q/A testing stages)

This will be going live within the next 30-days, so if you have apps you are working on with clients that require the old design, please be sure to publish within the next 2-weeks.

Looks like some fantastic updates/additions. Question: Does the “universal date/time format” include a 12-hour AM/PM time? It’s already a 24-hour/military clock now, which I can’t stand.

Also, landscape view applies to photos & videos as well, yes? Full-screen YouTube playback?

Finally, has the WYSIWYG HTML/text editor been updated/improved at all?

  1. Universal date/time format is used (mm/dd/yyyy 24:00) since half our business is international. In the future we plan to add this but not for this release.
  
  2. Yes there will be landscape for videos and galleries.
  
  3. Unfortunately no plans at this time, but please note you can open up the HTML text and enter something more custom if needed. Or perhaps a sized image.

    Sorry, I should have clarified. Yes, the landscape feature is available for the HTML 5 website, but the content gets completely stretched out, when you flip your smartphone to that mode.

Questions:
1. As your international enterprise partner we are very sensitive to web platform updates. Given this long list of updates seems that we’ll need to have a longer advance notice to translate and customize it befor going live. Please help us to avoid frustrations this time.
2. Will this update include the ability to customize and translate subjects on platform’s email notifications?
3. We’ve been asking for integrations with Russian analogs of Facebook, autoresponders, Paypal, Wufoo etc. Can we expect it in this or next releases?

  1. Yes we will be giving you files ahead of time to translate to avoid any issues with your translated platform.
  2. Unfortunately no but very soon after this release we will have that functionality.
  3. Potentially in the future but as of now it is not on our roadmap because of the time needed for these integrations. If we hear more requests we will absolutely include them.

  Hey Sergio, in the top right corner there is a search ability on any list view — such as info tabs, event tabs, and other tabs. We have added this ability all over the mobile app now.

Good to hear all the changes. One item that has been a real thorn in the side has been a specific area regarding the push notification. If you use a template for the push notification, it displays the word “template” in your message. Is this fixed?

I can see the real estate tab is live in the back end but when I go to edit the content it just goes to the contact tab layout. Is that because it isn’t completely live yet?

  Here is another new layout we will be introducing. It works with the top left button being pressed, and then the layout will slide over. This is a common and beautiful layout used in many modern enterprise apps.

With the real estate app will their be an option to search properties based on their rent or sale option. And will there be an option to add a criteria for the search function ie. only show homes of a certain rent value or sale vale

  Hey Jay, you can test the real estate feature above using the real estate example. You will be able to mark if it’s paid or for sale but to start you won’t be able to do a search based on certain values. We’ll likely gather as much feedback as possible and release a version 2.0 shortly after launch.

Hey guys..first awesome..second, I would like to show the app preview with the realestate on my site. When I try to do it now…sometimes it works and othertimes it will ask for the email and password. Any recommendations? Also I would like to try and resize it to be smaller. When I change the pixels even though its proportionate, it wont show or it will just maintain the size. Last - your CSV for real easate is obviously huge. Is there a way to think about this feature for other tabs like info and menus…thanks-

Would be good to separate out the food order and reservations into an easily accessible menu item at the top. So that anyone checking orders or reservations does not go near the design or content. Even better to have a separate login in that has access to only fulfilment options.

I didn’t see an answer to the question of whether POI’s would be able to be imported using the new csv importer (for real estate). The current requirement to *manually* input POI’s (especially if we have dozens we want to show on the map) is tedious at best. This would be a welcome addition. Will it work?

Hi, I was wondering about the new “sharing controls” section…could you explain what this means in more detail? Also, does this have anything to do with being able to control which clients have access to which sections of the administrative control panel (which would be nice to have)?

In other words, if I wanted one client to have the ability to edit the look & feel but not another client, can I do so?

Oh, I was also wondering if there have been any improvements to the RSS/Blog feed tab:

1. currently, you have the ability to set a single thumbnail image to the side of each blog item, but it’s the same image for every item. Will there be a way of assigning an image (on the actual blog entry side, of course) to be recognized and displayed as the thumbnail for each individual entry?

2. currently, there’s 3 tabs for each blog entry: the list tab, the “teaser” tab…and then you’re taken to the actual full website page for the full view. Will the third (full) view be pulled into the app itself, or will it still load the full website view (which may or may not have a responsive design)?

Other questions:

-For Facebook/Twitter login tabs, will people still have to log in every time they use this (which is incredibly tedious) or will it save the login?

-For the Events tab, will we have the ability to control *which* events include a header image, allow comments/photos/rsvps and so on individually? Right now these features are either ON or OFF for all events within the tab, but I have several school clients where only certain events need some of these but others don’t.

Looks very nice so far, a bit glitchy and the transition for current clients in process is going to be tricky for us to manage since what we have been showing them will have significant changes to what we’ve been working on…

Also noticed (and did not call due to it being new) that the background sliders of the apps in process need to be re-assigned (the update did not catch them to the new preview app…).

Also some of the pop-up setting pages are not “scroll” reachable yet… but you can get there with a tab so for now its ok!

Glad to see the changes in the subtabs, very needed!

Will the social features begin posting updates to end-users social accounts or simply logging them in through the social platform without creating additional exposure for the business?

Dear Designers. The Youtube Module should allow us to create video categories to be able to add videos or channels using categories. My customers have a lot of videos and they would like to have video categories. I know that you can not design every single wish here but video categories is something that other users are also waiting for and something that make sence.

Frustrated with the change process in the update portal… Images are not showing properly (pngs are not being shown with transparent backgrounds)… The pop up dialog forms cannot readily be reached without going through tabs and stretches…

Realize that there is a lot good in this release… However, it clearly was not field tested completely by non-employees (your own software is always difficult to debug…)

Really like the effort and focus on meeting a date for a release! However, there needs to be a bit more testing prior to actually pulling the rip cord…
